OLD PEOPLES' HOME
This building is exclusively reserved for the Canaan-Land Divine Mansion shall be reserved exclusively for the old and aged men and women. The minimum qualification for admission to this home shall be the minimum age of seventy years old. Any woman or man seeking admission into this home shall have accepted our Lord Jesus Christ as his or her Lord and personal savior. In other words, he must have been born again.
I am personally constrained to put the above minimum entry requirement following my experience as a product of the rural, traditional African society. I am well aware that the society is bedeviled by a conjure of traditional religions that are rooted in animism, fetishism, sorcery and various brands of evil practices and worships. These traditional religions lack futures and salvation. Notwithstanding that these religions confer temporary material benefits to their adherents at the early stages of the practice, they are spiritually suicidal on the long run.
Hence one particular category of the potential candidates of this home are the High Priests of these traditional dead religions. These High Priests that have spent their primes, serving and worshipping dead divinities realize very late in their lives that their objects of worship have become spiritually ineffective. These retiring High Priests are welcome to the home for our purpose. The other categories of old people who qualify for admission into the home are those that are helpless as a result of old age. The clinic/Medical center shall be available to them for the purpose of medication and stabilization of their fragile limbs. This can be located on the 5th floor of the Phase II of the mansion. This home shall be under the care of Chief Eze C. Iroeme.
The Director of the home shall ensure the availability of Old people's games and recreational facilities. We shall also endeavour to provide facilities for the continuous practice of the crafts or vocation of the professional ones among the old people. This will however be determined by the resources available to us at the point in time.
